Hi I'm an American student currently studying in Kunming. I currently have a student visa. I would like to go to Myanmar to visit my girlfriend (a Chinese national currently working there) at the end of October. Does anyone know what I would need to do to get a visa to go there? Also if I were to get a visa to go to Myanmar and then come back, would I need to get a Chinese visa in Myanmar before coming back? Does anyone know the details of these things?
Thanks a lot in advanced

If your Chinese visa is a 'multi-entry' visa then you can come back to China. You would still have to get a visa to enter Myanmar.
I believe, and someone correct me if I am wrong, all student visa's are multi entry. As long as your student visa is still valid when you re-enter China, it should be all a-OK. I am pretty sure about this having had a student visa and gone back and forth to HK a few times.
Like Liumingke said though you need a Myanmar visa for Myanmar.
Your student visa has been changed to a residence permit right? You need to do this within thirty days of getting it. If you have a residence permit then it will be multi entry. Search listings on this site for the address of the Myanmar embassy in Kunming.
I'm pretty sure it's multiple-entry. I'll double-check on this. Something I would like to know is where I would need to go to get the Myanmar visa if I am currently living in Kunming. Any ideas?
Thanks mPRin this was just what I needed. All information is in that link.
