There's good and evil all over the world. The USA does is not the virgin madonna propaganda would have us believe, but it's not all that bad a country either. All countries have good and evil - currently, the USA is wavering on its anti-sinophile (aka anti-chinese) rhetoric - especially since Huawei decided to abandon the USA market. Huawei followed the same rules as Sony, Toyota, etc and incorporated as a USA corporation - hiring oodles of Americans - so the political backlash from banning Huawei from telecom and other national infrastructure type projects is certain to hit hard as Huawei begins laying off and downsizing it's rather massive operations in the USA.
US foreign policy has a rather pervasive historical bread trail of ugliness - supporting corrupt, oppressive, tyrannical, human rights violating (torture, murder) regimes - all in the name of democracy (or oil, depending on one's conspiracy theory paranoia). At the same time, the USA has achieved many amazing things to improve life and the quality of life for multitudes (example velcro, super glue, telecom, computers). Great good attracts great evil.
I love the USA - but one should see one's object of affection with eyes wide open as opposed to being a blind lemming - however there are definite advantages to living a life in ignorant bliss.
