happy that a movie from one of the most overrated copycat directors in the world has been pulled!

Is it the first film of this kind that has been marketed in China? I showed it to two friends who were both quite upset to see Leonardo Di Caprio portrayed as a bad guy and got disinterested in watching the rest of the film

Reading the western press, it seems to have been pulled because of full frontal male nudity. The gore had already been toned down.

Hmm, a revenge fantasy in which a member of a disenfranchised underclass goes on a bloody rampage against those who have gotten rich through repressing him.

My question is, how did this get approved to be shown in Chinese theaters in the first place?

P.S.: Yankee, I bet your friends would have been really upset if they'd watched Django long enough to learn that Dicaprio's character dies in the penultimate plot sequence. Oh, wait...

@Dan, it could have also reminded them of the scene around the end of Titanic where he also dies. Which touched the heart of many. I forgot if any of them got to the part where Christoph Waltz dies.

Power comes from the barrel of a gun,,in the words of THE man,,maybe someone in power didn't want people to get any ideas.

just watched Hide and Seek with Robert DeNiro. Creepy and worth watching. And also Shutter Island with Leo DiCaprio was a film that creeped me out. I like psychological stuff rather than all-out violence.
