Just got back from the waterfall and also visited the 4 Historical sites that are located directly across from the subway station.
Wen Yi Duo's house is being renovated and they are making a nice park with a small pond all around his house. Very nice! Last time I was there 1 year ago is was just a huge lot with broken houses and bricks all over the place. It will probably be another year before this work is completed but it will be a nice park with his home in the center.
A motorbike or tuk tuk can take you from the subway station to the waterfall (3 km) for 10 yuan.
@Zhudan which mountains are those? I'd like to start walking again, I'm currently a sloth.
Yeah, the park is nothing special at all. I ended up on a long detour but found it eventually.
I don't know if it's still the case but the walkway behind the waterfall and out into the water were both blocked off which was pretty disappointing. Worth going to see if you're interested in the XXXXXX in **********
I hope it gets lit up at night. Was riding in the area and went to check it out at night. Sound of the waterfall is nice and park above is lit up, but the falls are completely dark.
Took my son there today. The instructions (repeated above) are great, though you need to use Exit B at LongTou Subway station for them to be spot on. We enjoyed the visit. The waterfalls were impressive and there is a nice paved walk around the lake above the falls through some pretty flowerbeds and over some bridges (now open). The walkway in front of, and behind, the main waterfalll is still out of bounds. OK, it's all artificial and very sanitised, but it's free (for now) and not too crowded (yet). Go soon!
