Does anyone know where this is located? I've seen a few articles on this recent project in Kunming but no definite area.

I might be wrong, but there was a project for a waterfall park past the end of Beijing Lu in the northern part of the city. I rode there once, while it was likely still in development, and could hear it behind the closed gates. If you search for "Songhua Dam" on Google Maps, you'll get an approximate location.
Just follow Panlong river north. Take Panjian West road cross over Fengyuan road. Will see nice parkway being constructed with nice walking paths. Continue along river until you come to a newly constructed bridge(2nd bridge after Fengyuan road), cross over the bridge and look to your left and you cannot miss. Best time to visit is during week to avoid hordes of people. I was impressed. Nicest thing i have seen in Kunming.
Sweet, thanks!
Sorry should have been Panjiang W Rd. Also can get there from Beijing Rd.
Some historical places to visit nearby are:
1 - Si Jia Ying Village - Wen Yi Duo - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wen_Yiduo
2 - Mai Di Village + Zong Pi Ying Village - Liang Si Cheng - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liang_Sicheng
3 - Long Tou Village - Mi Tuo Temple + Feng You Lan - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feng_Youlan
All these locations are located within walking distance of the waterfall or bus stop or the subway station in Long Quan Zhen, Pan Long District.
The Kunming Waterfall Park is most directly reached by taking either bus Z1 or Z46 and getting off at the Tianyu Lanshan Xiaoqu stop (天宇澜山小区). However, we took Metro Line 2 to the Longtou Street Station. Turning right out of the station, we walked to the intersection of Beijing Lu and Fengyuan Lu, then took another right turn and continued walking until we found the next bus stop. Taking either of these ways, you will want to look for Nongke Bei Lu (农科北路), the previously mentioned road not yet open to traffic. Walk down this street until you see the waterfall park sign on the righthand side. You can't miss it.

Is there somewhere on GoKunming that shows all the Kunming bus routes and stops (in pinyin, ideally)? I'd be interested to know somewhere near the centre of town where I can catch the Z1 or Z46. Thanks.
Why would anyone want to see a man made made in China waterfall? Sounds horrible.
