What is the quickest way to drive to jiaozixueshan? I read there is a new road that opened and takes only 2 and a half hours but baidu maps says the quickest way is 5 minimum. Years ago, I cycled north on small roads to 雪山乡 and jiaozixueshan was signed on newly paved roads. But the other day, I drove to luquan on the highway and saw there was a sign for a turn off just outside kunming (when you go through that tunnel) to jiaozixueshan. Anyone knows which would be quicker?

Indeed there is a new road specially for tourism going all the way to Jiaozixueshan.
Also the road is at least 5 years old it is not on most paper and digital maps.
On Google maps you will not find it but it can be found at QQ-maps see link for the entrance of the road.

It can be found as well on open street maps were it is labelled as X002.
It starts at the junction of the third ring road and the motorway to the north west (Fuming).
First follow the X030 for a hundred meter and then the road starts going first north east.
