Let me be perfectly clear about my function with this whole water bit.

I have been open and honest about this product. I give links, information, everything you need to evaluate the Berkey. No tricks or slicko sales BS, I don't play that.
As a long time member of the Kunming expat community, I felt the need to contribute and help solve what I consider to be a very important issue. Safe water. To this end I have gone to a lot of trouble and expense to make this available to you all in Kunming. A real solution to have cheap and safe water.

As I stated earlier, I expect my sell market to be the Chinese people, but I feel an obligation to the expat community, and so I offer you all this product. In the end I hope you appreciate my efforts for what it is.
If you all feel I am running a scam,PLEASE, PLEASE,PLEASE walk away. Do not buy it.
Otherwise. I am happy to answer all your questions or direct you to the places I know where you can decide for yourself.

I will not get involved with people who just need another subject to piss about in GK. There is enough of this BS on here already. I have no time for it.(i.e. AlexKMG)

Thank you to those that support my work.

@laofenzi- FYI, it is not legal for the Berkey system to be marketed on amazon, ebay, etc. Any dealer doing this will lose their distributor status. So I would be cautious dealing with such a place. There are companies selling look alikes and DO NOT include the Black Berkey purifiers, but only a poor un tested copy.
However I am happy to send you links from bonafied US dealers selling it for $263. Shipping to China? I doubt it, but you can ask for yourself.

@bucko: It wasn't my intention to offend, insult or accuse you in any way.

I was simply observing that, for what most people want, which is water clean enough to drink, it seems a bit steep. Maybe when you calculate a bunch of factors, such as filter replacement costs and the like (it also doesn't waste water like RO systems), it is a better deal, but you will face an uphill battle in your marketing.

People in China will often pay a lot more for imported products. This is especially true of anything that relates to health, if they see a benefit. Which is why they pay so much for imported (often grey import) baby formula. Many people here do not trust the bottled water companies, as there have already been several scams reported/prosecuted in China.
My Chinese family paid over 6500 for a water treatment filtration system. Our neighbour paid over 15000. This cost is just for the filtration units.

Well then Xiefei your observation is well taken although I don't agree. I have sold 8 systems in the 2 days I have been in business to Chinese people, with orders for another 6. Two of those were to the very customs officials who inspected them AND know all about my costs getting them into China.

The benefit and cost of my system is much cheaper than any other system. .02 RMB per gallon of water is cheap anyway you cut it. AND filters last 6000 gallons (not 600).

@laofengzi- "pain" is putting it lightly. Then after arriving and it is damaged, then what have you got?

@tigertiger- and how many times do they have to replace filters? That is much more $$ thrown out.

@tigertiger, is that for the whole house or just for drinking water?
