I've noticed all the websites for the real estate agencies in Canada and the USA are blocked. I dont use a VPN.
Is this something new ? Or has it always been this way?
I suspect the Gov is on damage control now that housing is beginning to slump in pricing.
stopping the hemoraging of dirty money. and any other money for that matter. government people who have family overseas (avenue for money) can no longer be promoted to stop this kinda thing, big trend now is also residence in europe which is cheap. i think 150k euro for spain last year. greece is even cheaper. lots of chinese agents for this.
Are they completely blocked or just not loading? Sometimes you need to refresh a few times to have the website load. I just did a Bing search for real estate and all sites on the first page load without a vpn
just not loading is the message you get when they are bloked, that way it hides the fact that it is clocked. seems more papatable to the people than 'site forbiden'
@ Dazzer....I think this is the trend they are trying to block....
On Yahoo it's impossible to get any websites but on Bing i could get all of them...
China Clamps Down on Web, Pinching Companies Like Google

Oh boy. Web restrictions for foreign websites, crackdown on foreigners' visas, crackdown on illegal foreign workers, crack down on foreigners using drugs.
Are we about to witness angry foreigners launching another Opium War?
I think the latest internet clampdown has to do with Hong Kong heating up .
