I'm not really into microwave cooking, but when I buy appliances I expect to do it right the first time. Unfortunately I already tried the places you had in mind. I'm kind of hoping I can find a place that imports appliances from Australia.

I noticed that most of the microwaves on the Chinese market are rather small and have terrible controls. I guess because it's a relatively new thing in China and consumers don't know what they want, so the manufacturers tend to focus on gaudy cosmetics and lots of useless buttons. I just want a normal microwave with a numeric keypad that works well. I was going to import this Panasonic from Hong Kong until I read some bad reviews about panasonic microwaves in general.
Anybody microwave experts with good recommendations?
Yeah, you're probably right. But I can dream can't I?
If you honestly believe people in this forum don't take the fake alcohol and gutter oil problems seriously then you haven't been paying attention. The reason they aren't considered "conspiracies" is because production of these things is not centralised and if the producers and distributors are caught they would likely face a firing squad.
Big American corporations and the the US government (basically the same entity at this point) actively conspire to screw the consumer and there is no higher power in place that can stop the bribery and corruption. I am 100% for the death penalty, especially for the assholes that are caught poisoning the food supply.
As for me I don't trust big corporations or governments of any country when it comes to my general well being.
To be fair the fluoride is naturally produced by the tea plant, it wasn't added. If you want to enjoy good quality green tea you just need to learn how to distinguish good tea from bad. Like anything in China when the price is low, it's almost guaranteed to be dangerous. However a high price doesn't guarantee quality. You just need to be a well informed consumer.

Kunming's former party boss charged with corruption
Posted byHe's guilty of giving contracts to his friends in Jiangsu? He's practically a saint compared to western politicians if that's his only crime.
It seems like this man almost singlehandedly unfucked Kunming. The first time I was in Kunming was in 2008, and I remember thinking the whole place looked like a giant slum. Now it actually seems livable.

Posted byI'm sure a big part of the problem with air quality in Hong Kong is that it's a tiny city state, and they get a lot of the bad air from the mainland. Population density in HK is a little insane too.

Posted byDo you mean Foshan? AQI there is 65 today. Where I live it's 160. 160 is pretty must as low as it gets here. In 2012 there was a period of about three months where the AQI was between 500-1000.
Hebei region is generally considered to have the worst air quality in China. I have not spent much time in South China, but I do check AQICN fairly often. South China is generally considered to have better air quality than average.

Posted byThe urban population of China is currently about 55%. In most developed countries it's between 80 - 90%. China's target for 2020 is 60%. I would guess it'll be about 25 years to catch up with the West. However, as already pointed out not all areas of China are suitable for large scale farming, so maybe what works for the West won't work for China.
