Forums > Living in Kunming > Clarity card / ATM Thanks. It's not got any mention of Cirus/Plus, but it is a MasterCard.
Yes, I've let Halifax know the card will be abroad.
Think my question was more about reliability of ATMs out there - in terms of cards getting swallowed etc. Bank of China in the centre should be a good shout though, right?
Only got visa debit as back-up but will incur charge, so prefer not to use.
I thought I'd be able to pay for some tours / accommodation with the card, but seems like they prefer cash - is this generally how it is out there?
Forums > Travel Yunnan > Clothing Banna and Kunming Anyone been on a trek in Xishuangbanna? What did you find worked best in terms of clothing / equipment? Thinking of taking walking trousers, walking boots and long-sleeved top, with waterproofs in bag. Wondering what other people's experiences were in terms of the heat / rain? (Going mid August).
Is it just normal shorts, t-shirts, sandals in Kunming / Dali / Lijiang etc with raincoat and umbrella?
Forums > Living in Kunming > Japanese Encephalitis Thanks a lot. Got myself booked in in Yuanyang, so I'll start looking at where to go now. Thanks again for everyone's advice.

Don't worry about the jokes, a car pulled out in front of me the other day in England and I was knocked off my bike when in Beijing, so I'm familiar with the sentiment :-)
Forums > Living in Kunming > Clarity card / ATM Anyone using Halifax clarity card in Kunming? Do the ATMs there accept it OK?
