As of at least 2 months ago, Kunming will no longer issue Z-visas to non-native speakers for teaching English. They will renew existing Z-visas to non-native speakers.
They have decided to enforce what has been official policy across China for some time.

Had a great afternoon and evening there sampling the great range of beers. Kevin the no. 1 brewer there was on hand to give us the history of the beers we tasted. To top it all I tucked into the All Day English breakfast. At 43rmb this is great value and authentic with eggs, bacon, locally made sausage and locally made black pudding, fresh grilled tomatoes, English style baked beans and local mushrooms topped off with 2 pieces of fried bread. Delicious. What more can a thirsty hungry person want!

The beer is great the porter being my favourite. Porter pie, pizza or a roast chicken go great with the porter too.
Every time I have visited there I have met old friends and made new ones too. Ray is a great host who is willing to go that extra step to link you up with like minded guests. Thanks.
