As a spin off from hot dogs thread.
Now the rain has stopped it is time for bbqs again.
Someone asked about burgers. I make my own. I am sure there are lots of others on here who have ideas to share.

Basic burger patties recipe.
Go to the market and find the beef seller. Pick your favorite cuts of beef. Usually all the same price/kg. A bit of fat makes a better tasting burger, but some like lean. Up to you.
The seller will grind/mince the beef for you.
Basic Recipe
-Ground beef
-salt and pepper to taste.
Mix it all up. Shape patties in the hands and squash a bit to get them to hold together.
Cook.
Alternativley freeze raw patties individually on a tray, and after frozen you can bag them. They cook from frozen the same as store bought ones.
Thanks Tiger! :)
My favorite cut of beef for burgers.
I look for shin beef, if I can get it. This is a tough as hell stewing beef, but is full of flavor. When ground for burgers you get a firm burger that is extremely tasty.
2 weeks ago Metro had really good fresh ground beef. It was probably 85% lean and made really good hamburger patties. Taste was so good i ended up eating the patties without buns.
