I just had the same problem, except I waited 3 months instead of 2 - just got back from the police station, no questions, no problems.

It is important to develop good habits. Don't be lax while you are in another country other then your own. Don't give them an excuse to make it hard for the rest of us.

I agree Liumingke1234, putting that off really stressed me out in the end, I won't be doing it again.

Interestingly, after re-registering yesterday with police, the police are on their way to my house right now to "Check I live where I said I live". Is this some new policy from the cops? Anyone else ever had this?

The nice police man came and went after looking around my room and getting me to sign something!

Seemed like a formality, maybe down here in the south they have a hardcore boss that makes them cross all the t's and tick all the boxes?
