Well ... it might be safer to go to Bangkok but certainly not cheaper. Also considering the fact that curing this disease is a very simple antibiotic treatment.

The Kunming International Clinic charge 200 元 for a doctor visit (even if only in order to take the sample), which I consider a lot. Although most of their doctors are indeed native English speakers. They are super nice and helpful with info, even if not coming to their clinic for examination/treatment.

Today I went to the Kunming Tongren hospital (昆明同仁医院) according to a recommendation in the forums.
I still don't have all the results, but I can say the following:
Good:
1. Fees (I think reasonable):

a. registration: 18元

b. Doctor visit: 7元

c. Visual lab test (takes 1/2 hour): 40 元

d. Mycoplasma culture and drug susceptibility (takes 2 days): 140元
2. Lab took my phone number and said they would give me a call with the result, and also gave me their phone number. So no need to go back.

To improve:
1. Doctor wasn't wearing gloves when examining my penis or when taking the sample
2. nurse at the lab had a few drops of blood on her gloves from a former blood test, but did not replace the gloves when she accepted me, took my card and gave me the lab-test-container.

You people on here think I go around and screw Chinese girls without protection. I always wear condoms. I know condoms are not 100% effective in preventing STDs but they greatly reduce the chances.

One more bit of info, the "Kunming International Clinic" (0871-411-9100) were so kind to check for me which hospital performs these tests. They said you can also do it at "St Johns' Hospital" on 466号 Dianchi Road (Xishan), 0871-5352747.

You can either go to Kunming International Clinic to have you checked up and send the specimen to the hospital or go directly to the hospital.
