Hi All,
One of my American friends will come to Kunming to study Mandarin soon. This is the first time she goes abroad, and doesn't know what stuff should to bring. So I am helping her to ask your suggestions, especially from those who come to Kunming to study, about the things she has to bring here from US?
Cheers,
A smile and a sense of humour. Reading chapter one of Albert Wolfe's 'Chinese 24/7', Stone Bridge Press, may prove useful. Albert worked and lived in Kunming before defecting to the east coast of China.
Kevin - there was another thread on one of the forums regarding this. I'm too lazy to search for it...but dig around a bit - it was somewhere around December 2009 I think..
Big size shoes. An open mind. Courage. Chutzpah.
I suggest she can read this book first.
