Ehy guys! I am teaching and studying in Kunming and I would also love to use some of some of my time to volunteer with kids or old people. Does China allow foreigners to volunteer?

That's a pretty funny question.

If you'd like to meet children - Kunming has an orphanage on the outskirts of town. I'm pretty sure they'd be absolutely delighted to have a gratis English teacher (or whatever you'd like to teach - art, crafts, music, singing, exercise, sports, etc ad infinitum).

I think I posted the address, phone number, and chinese/english names here a few years ago - but if you can't find the post - drop me a public note and I'll repost the information here (and maybe ask gokm to post the info permanently).

Old people - they have local senior citizen organizations in every district - but they mostly play majiang, based on my observations.
