Is there an English corner in south Kunming?

I think there's an English corner at the Cafe Bene @ Nanya mall, but I'm not sure if it's active.

I live just south of Guangfu on Dianchi lu. By the looks of the residents, probably the only one that's lived in this area. I see a few other foreigners at Nanya and the new Aiqinghai malls though. There's also an international school across from Aiqinghai where the wicker basket is. Plenty of foreigners there too.

Personally, I love it down here. Quieter, better air, less annoying foreigners (half kidding), great for biking, and now 2 Uniqlos within a few blocks of each other. Keeps me out of trouble too, I suppose. Downside is that getting to and from the city can be a bitch during rush hour.

I am a foreigner living close to nanya mall, would like to meet people for English conversations. There are many good coffee shops in the mall area to meet for an English corner idea. Let's get together soon!

@langbear
To be honest, I would also like more conversations with other expats. I think sometimes we just need to chat and share experiences, local knowledge, frustrations, etc. My wife is Chinese, but on somethings we are just on a different plane.
I was thinking about maybe starting a breakfast club or coffee morning somewhere in the south. If anyone else might be interested, feel free to pipe-up, or PM me. If there is enough interest, I might try to organize something informal, easy and inexpensive (no afternoon tea at the Intercontinental, more coffee and donuts somewhere).

I live just near the new Ai qing hai mall myself and was thinking of starting or joining something similar to. Like you say @tigertiger, similar position, I also have a happy time with my Chinese wife but sometimes a bit of expat talk would go down well. Would be up for it anyway :) but just thought I'd add idea to this by saying we'll be opening a store in the Ai qing hai mall in about a month just for my wife's design and stuff but also thinking of leaving a little area of it for things like this, like you say coffee & doughnuts ;)

Not quite the same area though, be a bit of a journey to somewhere like Salvador's just for a coffee & chat!

I am still not clear about what people mean when they say 'the South of Kunming' - perhaps it means different things to different people?
