Hi fellow expats,

I heard there is a new flight opening between Kunming and Paris that takes about 10 hours. Does anybody know anything about this?

But don't get your hopes up. Chengdu was suppose to get a direct to Paris last year, but it never happened.

It's easy enough to book a connecting flight on Malaysia Airlines, THAI or Cathay Pacific to get to Paris from Kunming. Daily (or at least regular flights most days of the week) connect Kunming with these cities and then from there daily or sometimes multiple daily flights connect to Paris.

Finnair also has a good connection to Europe via Helsinki starting in nearby Chongqing.

yeah, but that's a whole bunch of stopovers.

please give us direct flight to paris at low cost. thank you.

That's good to know. How much on average are those flights? It may be a cheaper option for me to get back to London or even more convenient, Bristol.

China Eastern Yunnan Airlines (MU) will launch a non-stop flight from Kunming to Paris, France in October.

Operated by Airbus A330-300E aircraft, the non-stop service will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The Paris-bound flight is scheduled to take off from Kunming at 1:30 a.m. and arrives in Paris at 11:30 a.m., with the return flight departing from Paris at 6:30 p.m. and arriving at Kunming at 7:30 a.m. the next day (all local time).
