Dr. George Boespflug is the Director of Biola’s Conservatory of Music. A seasoned performer, Dr. Boespflug also has a tremendous passion for training young musicians to serve the society through their music.
Marlin Owen is currently the Co-Coordinator of the Strings Department and is the private instructor for applied cello lessons. He is also the conductor of the Biola Symphony Orchestra, and he teaches the Music History and Music Culture courses. His dynamic teaching style and eclectic musical career contribute to his students’ rich learning experience in class, at lesson, and under his baton.
Robert Feller: Professor，Winds and Percussion Area Coordinator who teaching at Biola for a little over 27 years, Mr. Feller has contributed to the development of thousands of aspiring instrumentalists at Biola as well as in a variety of high profile educational venues over the course of his career. He is the conductor of the Biola Symphonic Winds and the Biola Brass Ensemble; Mr. Feller also coaches the Honors Brass Quintet and acts as instructor for classroom courses focused on conducting, pedagogy, and literature.
Three Masters will visit China from Oct.14-23, 2014. They will stay in Kunming from Oct.14-19 and then in Hong Kong for the rest of the days.
They are planning to play all American solo repertoire including works by Bernstein, Redford, Joplin and Copland and so on. Dr. Boespflug would be happy to provide piano masterclasses, the trumpeter Feller would be happy to guest conduct or clinic any sort of wind group, and/or provide a winds masterclass. The orchestra director Owen would be happy to do the same with any orchestras, and/or provide a strings masterclass.
They will bring all-American repertoire to China, would also be happy to discuss music education with administrators and have an interchange regarding administration.
