This Saturday, Caiyun Farmers Market, a monthly event co-organized by over ten NGOs and social enterprises in Kunming is to be held beside Carrefour on East Huancheng Road. This is the last one in the year of the sheep. There will be food produced locally and ecologically by small-scale peasants around Kunming as usual, and special activities for new year celebration such as Chinese papercuts, singing and dances of Miao ethinic people who are also the producers of a new community-supported agriculture group, and art lessons for children to learn about nature. It will be a great opportunity to experience the cultures and food in Yunnan, and communicate with peasants and practitioners in the field of sustainable production and consumption.
