Bossa Nova Night

Description

Three Italian musicians managed to find each other here in Kunming and put together this Bossa group.
Bossa Nova is originally from Brazil, but the music genre is spread all over the world.
The music invites to dance, laughter, food and drinks out on the streets.
It’s the Latin American way for Re Nao!
This concert will be all about remembering the warm summer breeze and having a good time!
Our T-café will especially for this event serve you all kinds of drinks (with or without alcohol) to really good prices.
The first drink is included in the ticket price and the second drink you buy is half price!
So put on your colourful dress or Hawaiian shirt and join our Bossa night!

Pietro Olivieri is a bass player both acoustic and electric born in Bologna, Italy on the 6.10.1991

He graduated at the Ferrara’s G. Frescobaldi Conservatory in Jazz music. He played in different local bands and orchestras performing various styles such as Jazz, Latin, Pop and Funk music.

In September 2015 he moved in Kunming , China, to play a jazz with the Zoltan Szigeti quartet, performing jazz standards almost everyday of the week in Kunming clubs and bars. He also performed on the 28th of April 2015 with Benoit Stasiaczyk, vibraphone player and head of the jazz department in Guangzhou university. The performance has been performed at the Yunnan Normal University in Chenggong. He also had different performances in Yunnan cities such as Mangshi, Xishuangbanna.

Sandra Oluwaseun Samuel is a Nigerian Jazz, Soul and RnB singer, born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1992, based in Italy and currently living in Kunming, China. Sandra’s passion for music and singing started when she was very small and she started performing at a young age too, at the age of 15 she joined her high school choir and this led her to approach the theatre scene. The first play in which she acted was the Musical “Love Waves” by Enza Nalbone and Carlo Mondatori, where Sandra played one of The Impressions, vocals of Betty Everett, and the role of Betty Everett later on. The collaboration with Enza Nalbone and her entourage continued in several other plays such as the play “Tino Rossi, il pianista sull’Oceano” and singing competitions. Sandra, currently living in China, had the chance to challenge herself into trying different genres (Pop, Samba, etc.) and styles and to play and learn with different musicians from all over the world, living and performing in China. Sandra sings in many different languages such as English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese; and she’s being involved in various music projects, such as The Bossa Nova and Samba Trio with the Italian Band Freaky Bossa (collaboration with Sandro Padovan and Pietro Olivari) and Funky, Jazz and Soul projects with many other professional musicians in Kunming, China.

Born in Venice (Italy), Sandro Cagnin grew up in a musical family. His father is a guitarist and taught him guitar basics.
Sandro spent over ten years in China between Kunming and Shanghai where he taught and played music regularly. In 2002, he formed Minjian Funk 民间饭客 and shared the stage with some of the most famous Chinese rock bands like Cui Jian 崔健, P.K. 14, Shanren Band 山人乐队,Spring & Autumn 春秋,AK 47 and more. In Shanghai, he played with two rock bands: The Cardinals and The Dovetail Joints.
