@HFCAMPO, I've been to Dali a few times and only been once to Bakery 88. Never bothered to go to other expat hangouts nor check where they were located. And why choose a name like Bakery 88 for your foreign owned business? It makes it sound like that place is run by a happy Nazi fan.
No, ONE of your points was "why not ask someone on the street?"
The OTHER point was ... why does he know everything about everything but can't locate scrambled eggs in Dali? Are you insinuating that he just made the whole thread up and secretly already knows all the in spots for breakfast in Dali?
Absolutely plausible yankee that makes completely sense espwcially that the number 8 is only symbolic for fascism and not luck, goodness and other positive meanings.
You know the chinese name of bakery 88 right?
It's just way too convenient to have chosen that name and put the meaning on Chinese beliefs. Seriously. The owner IS German. Another name than 88 would have been more fitting.
Baba has positive meanings in China. Baba can mean Daddy. Baba is also the name for a category of Chinese round flat food products, usually the round flat breads, often with stuffing, baba can also be made of rice and mixed veg, or sticky rice with sweet fillings.
Yes. But I still don't believe it was named after those meanings.
Right a German using the number 8 and voila...proof for beeing Nazis. And we are right back at the 40's, with the exact same mentality as the nazis. So guys you better dye your hair blond and put in your blue xontact lenses.
Or Karina will club you to death with her swastika prezels.
Even though it's beyond ridiculous...it's still kinda funny what yankee wrote.
Interesting sidenote...if their plan worked out, then they aren't that German anymore.
Also before you start rumors, why don't you call or ask them about the name. I'm sure they are happy to tell you, whilst enjoying their fantastic baked goods.
I kinda find it difficult to see how/why any self respecting neo-fascist would choose to live permanently in China.
...@.tiger
Exactly, plus treating the lower races with so much respect.
In an attempt to get things back on track.
When I travel I do not take my computer with me. Digital detox and avoid work emails.
Hence the seeming disjoint in logic of advice given and my responses made. Some advice is given is not read until my return from travel. That is why I cannot ask locals on the ground, questions that I will not have until I return.
