Dali breakfast - any recommendations?

Some phone and license plate numbers might have two digits only because more lucky numbers are more expensive. So, people who want premium numbers will buy according to what they can afford. Only one lucky number for phone use is so common that can be found in you phone number whether you chose to have it or not. It would probably relate more to its lucky meaning if it's the lat digit.

I am pretty sure that most Germans are well aware of what 88 means. If they wanted to choose a name related to Chinese culture, there would still have a handful of other Chinese lucky numbers to choose from. Plus it's not the amount of business names that's lacking.

Ha haa, wow, just read this again, this thread pretty much sums up why online forums can go crazy. Misconstrued meanings, people becoming incensed because nobody thinks just like them and they are always right, references to Nazis... its got it all.

Bit of Occam's razor thinking here yankee, is it more likely that they called their bakery 88 because its both lucky and "ba ba" also means a type of bread in Chinese, or that they are a secret Nazi cult operating in China and/or they are a front for some type of neo Nazi movement? I would suggest the former and that, even as Germans, they probably never even thought twice about the alternate meaning.

All this when poor tiger just wanted to find somwhere nice to eat breakfast in China. Shame on all of us who participated in such online manure! :-)

How is suggesting that the (very kind and very progressive toward local employees) owners of Bakery 88 are nazis not an attack and how is it not off the topic of the original post? This shit should be deleted.
