Dali breakfast - any recommendations?

GoK Moderator (5096 posts) • 0

This may have been asked before, but the churn of business in Dali is high.

Apart from street foods, where do people go for a breakfast and coffee in Dali?
Is there anywhere that opens before 9am?

Recommendations invited.
thx

Jim's Tibetan Guesthouse, I think it's called. They have good western breakfast. Pretty sure it opened before 9.

Jim's Tibetan Hotel is just outside the south gate of the old town, a short 5 minute walk up the hill. Sorry, that's about as detailed as I can remember.

Bakery 88 is in the GoKunming listings.

Aww, this means I have to go to Dali for a decent breakfast? I've been pretty disappointed with whats on offer in KM. Haven't found a decent 'full English' anywhere.

Bakery 88 is must go especilly if you crave baked goods with your breakfast.
Never tried Bad Monkey breakfast but I heard good things about it, they certainly have the best pizza in town (dinner option, although the beer started to suck lately).

If you can't live without the juan fen, mixian fix there is this muslim mixian place. Walk along fuxing rd heading north, turn right at the first road that has cars crossing. It's the first food place right after a tiny shop.
Cheap and good mixian.

Go to Bakery 88. Best breakfast in Dali - no contest. Probably the best breakfast in Yunnan. It's on Bo'ai lu. Run by a German couple. Easily the best bread in Yunnan. Good coffee etc. English or Continental breakfast. And no I don't have shares in the company. It's just very good.
