Food quality sucks, Nestle..

mike4g_air (788 posts) • 0

I want to rant about Nestle,

Bought some ice cream a few days ago, tasted like shit to begin with, it was pink, didnt taste like strawberry nor cherry, it was awful!!
Within an hour I had a stomach ache.....
3 days later I'm still sick with serious diarrhea....

So this is how the world will become, a perfect example of a quality European brand screwed up by the owners of Nestle in China whom dont give a shit about quality.

Can china make anything right???

Sure, China CAN make things right, but where's the incentive? As long as people keep buying the cheap crap, companies will continue to produce cheap crap - probably with higher profits than if they produced quality goods.

It may also have been fake product.

Or even a couple of years out of date. I have seen products on the shelves that are 3 years old. I know that as I bought it.

I can tell you that buying old product, if you have a Chinese wife, can be hazardous to your hearing.

Constant thawing and refreezing any brand of ice-cream is likely to bring on the squits.

well truth is there are problems in the system, but normally if its in those big supermarkets they have a system that returns those nearing expire or ask the company to do promo

but at times they just completely neglect it or i guess even the sales maager or its staff of that food company doesnt do anything until told to do so

If memory serves, ice cream poisoning (as it is called back home) is the biggest single cause of food poisoning in the UK.
The cold chain in China is a real problem, and is not the sole responsibility of the suppliers. I have seen many a customer leave freezers open after they have taken what they want. I have seen ice cream deliveries stacked on the sidewalk and left for 20 minutes in the height of summer.

@ Shoei
She is the best thing for me. I now no longer consume food that would be unfit for consumption (even by animals), that is out of date. I always check the dates first, and often put stuff back on the shelf.
Stock rotation does not happen here a lot. Often the stuff at the front of the shelf is the freshest.
