Hrrm, time to replace those manky pillows I brought with me from Shanghai. Maybe some new sheets, too. Any recommendations for a good shop convenient to Cuihu? I can't stand Walmart/Carrefour and would prefer a shop where I can see from one side to the other.
Any tips on how to get pillows that wont poison you with solvent fumes?
there's a shop on renmin zhong lu. it's on the opposite side to the Provincial Human Resources building. around there somewhere on a corner. can't remember the crossroad name...
Thanks, will check it out. Anything that sets that shop apart from others?
decent quality stuff without the crazy prices and a fair selection plus you can see from one side to the other! i expect that there are numerous others but i found them helpful and that's where i'll be going the next time i need bedding/textiles.
Great, I'll make sure to head down there. I'm going to work off the assumption that's it on either the corner of Wuyi Lu (which eventually crosses Dongfeng Lu and intersects with Guofang Lu near Kundu) or the corner of Yunrui Xi Lu, which goes down to the western Sister Building a bit north of the Bird and Flower Market.
Thanks for the help.
errr, directly across Renmin Lu from the Human Resources building everything got mad chai'd. i remember buying some stuff from a place on the west side of Wuyi Lu that roughly fits debaser's directions, but now it's gone... @debaser - have you seen your place open since the chai bomb hit?
i haven't been there for ages... hope it's not gone. i'll keep an eye open for it if i pass by today.
Awesome, chai bomb. Is that when you drop a shot of liquor into a pint of Indian tea and chug it?
I'm glad the city is making it so easy for me to patronize establishments owned by local citizens (by bowling over their shops) instead of multinational French and American chains.
