hi, does anyone have the address of 'Happy Soccer'. it's an indoor football place near Beijing Lu. don't know if that's the name or if it's just a translation of a chinese name! the address in chinese and pinyin would be great. thanks in advance.

'Happy Soccer' kuai le zu qiu 快乐足球 actually is a amature soccer activity organizer. they have many venues, one is near Beijing Lu, (but not exactly at Beijing Lu), the address is Chuan Jin Lu 穿金路 No.152, tel 5612473, their websit http://www.klzq.net.cn/
I play soccer too, recent years play tennis a lot. I'd like to kick with your guys.(hope its not a slang of any other meaning) .

that website seems to have a problem?
I used to play social football (soccer) in Beijing, would be very interested in playing here (although I am slow and have no skill). Let me know if either of you need an extra player when you play next time.

went to that place earlier... not easy to find! for anyone thinking of going, it's not exactly well maintained. the astroturf is dirty as is the rest of the place. also, the pitch is a bit small (even for 5-a-side). anyway, it was a bit of fun.
if anyone wants to join in next Tuesday we'll be there again. it should be around 2 - 3pm but send me a message on 15288371960 to confirm. don't expect much as we just go for a kick about rather than a serious game or anything!

this just started as a work/social thing but from the amount of interest it looks like it could get bigger. i'm happy to have a kick around with anyone and i'm sure that my colleagues would say the same. if enough people come along we could even get some teams together i guess...
by the way, it's about Y100 per hour for a pitch.

Hi debaser,
I'd definitely be up for chipping and joining you guys, is that Y100 each i'm guessing not but it'll be split between whoever shows up?
Also are you guys around during Spring festival or are you restarting like KFC [gotta love the football team's name :o)] after the break?
Let me know
Cheers

it's been Y100 an hour for the pitch between whoever shows up. it's not the best venue and i'm waiting for John Xie (above) to get back to me with the address of a better place. most of those who come are away for the holiday and we'll start again on the first tuesday back. like i say, it's a 5-a-side kick about at the moment... if you're looking for something competitive then 'KFC' would be your best bet. Piers has all the info on them.

No, i'd just be happy to have a fun kick about rather than anything too serious.
I checked out the location through google maps
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl
Just wondering if there's any good land marks near by that you could tell me about so i don't get lost.
Looking forward to meeting you guys, i'll send a text to confirm i'm coming, are you playing the 23rd?
Cheers

Rubbish! The goggle map didn't work but it shows it as being close to Baiyun Rd, close to the Jiahao Hotel.

From memory it is just north of Lianming Rd, on the left side of Chuanjin Rd as you walk north.
On the street there is what appeared to be a hotel lobby (not sure if it was a hotel), if you ask in there they have no idea that Happy Soccer is at the back of the courtyard right behind. There is a driveway/entrance on the right hand side, there are also restaurants and a foot massage place in the courtyard.
Looks like it might be at a different place next time anyway.

It's actually part of the Ri Xin Hotel complex. Go up Chuanjin Lu, over the train tracks about 300m or so on the left. There's a gateway into a car park and the football pitches are at the back right of the car park.
There is a better astro turf pitch on the north ring road but I can't for the life of me remember the address. It's part of a sports complex with swimming pool, tennis, badminton etc.
If you guys are short of numbers, there may be some guys on the team who might be interested in joining 5-a-side. Send an email to kunmingfc@gmail.com asking Will to forward to all team members.
FYI the football club runs both competitive teams in a league as well as more relaxed friendly match team. Anybody can join, some of us (me in particular) are more crap than others!

Would anyone be interested in setting up a mixed (men and ladies) FIVE A-SIDE FOOTBALL LEAGUE on Tuesday evenings at Happy Soccer?
Maybe we could get 4 or hopefully more teams, hire the two pitches and set up a mini league every Tuesday evening.
Let me know if you are interested. Teams and individuals welcome, as individuals can join together to make a team.
