I have traveled much in Laos. I have seen direct flights Jinghong-Luang Prabang, so you can ask some Travel Agencies about this. They may be in Jinghong. There are also busses to Luang Prabang, but not for me. It depends on your budget.

I just went from Kunming to Northern Thailand with the family and it can be easily done. Best to find some people in Jinghong to find out bus and Air schedules and costs. It may depend on the time of the year when these are available.

I know about Hitchens and the rest! I have even noticed how fellow Athiest Sam Harris is disturbing the Athiest community, by saying they having nothing to contribute morally for they rely on Science too much and Science does not answer the REAL questions of life, for instance who am I? What should I do?....What to do about death and dying?...Actually, I do not care what you believe, but please try to positive! I may not agree with you and I am sure arguing will not convince you, but if someone is trying to contribute to the betterment of the world and society than good, there are already too many, it seems, that only want to extract as much as they can in what few years they have on this earth.

As for Atheists growing, I am sorry, but all the Data says the contrary unless you can do something to turn the tide. Who knows this might change. To be honest or technical, Atheists are already in the Majority. Do Buddhists or Hindus actually believe in a God? Or are they not Ethical and Philosophical Atheists?
