Never had I implied you were French. Pretentious for stating we lost millions in court?
@Napoleon
Just because Adolf marched his army procession down Arc de Triomphe didn't erase, nor take historical precedence over the army of yours truly, monsieur Bonaparte...
yet I find it saddening how history is buried in this case, evident by the defiantly nescient posts on this thread.
Brush up on buried history before throwing bs claims. Use a VPN to dig source info from the opposition side. Perhaps, the person you're accusing of making false claims come from a line of top officials flanking the founding father (no, the other one). In either case, I will stop here before thin ice breaks.
If I could respond with GIF smileys...
One eye rolling for JanJal, a million rolling in their graves for Geezer.
Without being too nitpicky with semantics, lets connect back to original discussion for our fellow comrades...
Per OP's compensation request... even rightful, private land owners/landlords are retroactively compensated disproportionately and unfairly for the blatant, unlawful confiscation of land in the early years of the CPC, foreigners who merely lease rights to use residential (70 years)/commercial (40 yrs) estates, yet expecting just expropriation compensations, is an exercise in futility.

Celebrating Mid-Autumn Day, China's harvest festival
Posted byAs an aside, I once bought a paper lantern on a river bank in Xiamen for 10rmb. The seller lent me his light and we lit the lantern. It gradually ascended for a few meters, but the wind carried it into branches of a tree. It got stuck there sideways, and the whole darn thing was set ablaze in the foliage. I turned around and the seller had already vanished. Man he was quick! That was my cue to run away as well.
Moral of the story: Wear sneakers when playing with fire...
also, release the lanterns in an open area.

Posted byNot to be picky Pat, but doesn't "solstice" occur only summers and winters, as sun reaches highest point (longest days) or lowest point (shortest days)?
Tonight is Autumn Equinox ("equal night" in Latin) where night is the same duration as the day. Hence, Spring Equinox or Autumn Equinox.
Regardless, 中秋节快乐 y'all!
Chinese diplomat proposes bullet train to India
Posted byBaby steps. It's a long game as Patrick mentioned. First overcome the Myanmar hurdle.
Eventually, China will win over Myanmar's Union Parliament, backing Myanmar military against any U.S. imposed sanctions for alleged human rights abuses of Rohingya Muslims.
His excellency Win Myint will hedge their position against the U.N. by succumbing to the Belt and Road cooperation.
