1 year contract and no talk of offering visas or a contract completion bonus. A friend also mentioned it is illegal to keep pay from staff but if it doesn't offer visas then the contract is worthless and maybe the held money would never be returned to the employee as there is nothing that could be legally done about it. I'd warn people not to accept the position if they happen to stumble apon it.
Kids Castle Kindergarten in Kunming will be looking for teachers soon. Just a heads up on their new policy. They will keep 10% of your pay each month as a penalty incase you break contract. I was shocked when I was told this, as I, like most people, like to be paid on time for the work I have done. I withdrew my application as I find it very unfair and untrusting on their behalf when we should have been starting a healthy working relationship. Had anybody heard of this practice happening in other schools?
From the attitude I received when just asking some very standard questions, I would guess the school would be a poor place to work and the salary would reflect that. As someone stated, if it was great pay, they'd be all too happy to tell you about it. Still very curious on how low the salary is (for entertainment purposes) but not willing to waste time applying just to find out.
I'm not sure if anybody else has tried to apply for the early childhood centre position advertised by Kream123 or has worked for them before but if so I'd like to hear about your experience there. My experience didn't get past the phone call I made to ask for more information. My first question was ' how many hours per week?' To this the answer was 'we don't work that way, you will work from 9:00 to 6:00 Wednesday to Sunday.' My following question was regarding the additional payment of classes that is stated in the advertisement. This question was met with the answer 'that's confidential.' After questioning why this can't be discussed before going through the process of applying, I received a fairly aggressive response from the guy called Troy. Very blunt and rudely I was told, that I had seen 5000 in the advertisment, if I thought 5000 a month wasn't good enough for Kunming don't call and ask about the job. I'm curious if anybody has bothered jumping through the hoops to discover what the heavily guarded salary secret is.
The beer is good but expensive and only a lager or a dark beer to choose from...not really a beer lovers dream. Other breweries in Kunming have more options to choose from and their starting prices are fairer, around 35 kuai a pint, here it is around 60 a pint. I have eaten here only a couple of times, it's ok western food but way too expensive. It is cheaper to eat and drink in London. Curious to why the prices change so frequently, set your prices and stick to them.
