It is not very difficult as long as you are "extra friendly" to the right people.

Last time I had an issue with my phone number that I had previously registered, I too had to go to a larger business.

These small shops on every other street corner are not able to deal with foreigners and passports.

I think that is one of those "laws" that is not enforced.

I've known many people with, I assume,

illegal dogs and other pets.

I am more concerned with someone buying a pet, especially an aggressive type dog, for their short stay in China.
