There are direct buses from Kunming to Jianchuan, and the trip should take no longer than 10 hours. Jianchuan Old Town was first established in the Yuan Dynasty and has a history of more than 650 years. The original ancient city wall is majestic. The buildings in the ancient city are very distinctive. There are still more than 40 Ming Dynasty houses and 146 Qing Dynasty buildings in the old town, many of them in good repair.
