Well, anyway thats a business idea for someone to get a few boxes of nicotine chewing-gum on their Café shelves, as it seems to be nonexistent in Kunming. A desperate sucker like me, for instance, would be ready to pay a lot! Even to clean the kitchen for just a single chewing gum!

Let me say one more thing here, if anyone else gets desperate for nicotine. Theres another thread here asking also, without answers.

Bought soda powder from the supermarket. Got a packet of Burmese hand-blended pipe-tobacco (any raw tobacco should do fine - even the Yunnanese bamboo-pipe stuff as long as its, well, tobacco).

Digged out the wok in the kitchen. Filled a little water and boiled it. Flipped in a bag of soda, like a French Chef - Voila! Poured in the tobacco and added some flavor (whisky, a pinch of salt and a candy). A bit of mixing and a glass of wine while waiting a few minutes for the stuff to blend together.

It fu-kin worked! How wonderful to feel the nicotine crawl up the veins! No rocket science!
