PSB Visa Checklist

They basically want to keep you 'hostage'. That's is why you have to be careful who you pick as your employer. Some like to rule with an iron fist. They will go out of there way to make getting a visa difficult. Good Luck!

Just got back from the New Location of the Visa place (118 Tudong Rd.)
The place is the same place that Chinese national's go to in order to get their visas to travel abroad. It's on the 3rd. Floor as Hugo had mention. Make sure that when you go you take a number(there's a machine as you get out of the elevator). I found that compare to the other place, the service was quite slow considering there was only a handful of people. When you come to pick-up your new visa, you need to first pay the cashier on the first floor and then go to the 3rd. floor to pick up your new visa. They have copy machines on the first floor in case you need it. There is usually a line for that. To the left of the building before you enter is a 'Passport photo' place. I think it's a self-service machine from what I could see from the outside looking in. The location was inconvenient for me because I live in the North and there's so much construction in that area. It's horrible.

Thanks all. But I do not think that my employer is trying to kidnap me, hold me hostage, or screw me over. It is the OLD employer that is being difficult. Yes, the new employer IS aware of the situation and HAS collected everything they need to get me a new work visa. And yes, I WILL have to leave the country (Hong Kong) to get it.

What I am talking about is the GAP between visas, which, as I understand, can be covered with a one-month tourist "extension" visa.

Hello everybody.
Anyone know how long a visa Type M (business) can be extended in the PSB at Kunming?

Chinesse consulate in Spain only gave me 30 days and I need to be there at less 45 days. Also I need this info in order to organize my schedule and buy the plane ticket...

Any info will be very helpfull.

Thanks!

I'm told that the company that invites you can extend your visa once you're here. I'd say that 15 days extra wouldn't be a problem if you can get the inviting company to help but I don't work for the PSB and I haven't had to do it myself. I BELIEVE you can extend the visa a maximum of twice but that the extensions can't be for longer than the original visa. PLEASE check that (and any other 'information' or 'fact' you are given on here). Contact the PSB directly if you can or an immigration law firm in Kunming if all else fails (there was one advertising on here somewhere).
