Poetry anyone?

OK but I hope the venue is providing my free beer? :)

Just wondering what makes you think Muyu (where i've never been) is a better venue?

I must admit a bias: my hotel is usually near Moondog :)

A laowai who lived in Kunming
The city of Eternal Spring
Had a go at a rhyme
Which he posted online
On a poetry thread or something

.... don't worry, I won't be attending!

Ocean, you might be on to something really big here.

Like a poetry club right here on Gokunming. For those of us who suck (ie me), the shyness of being in front of a crowd is not an issue and you can't see people's apathy, indifference, or giggling.

Well I guess there won't be a free beer, but there won't be any giggling either.
Come along Ocean - you can just listen if you want to. And if you like Voltaire's poetry you can buy him a beer.

Sawasdee Khrup, from smog-bound Chiang Mai.

I am curious if there is any kind of group for writers of fiction in Kunming.

If I succeed in moving to Kunming this year, I'd definitely attend any poetry-related activity.

thanks, Bill

BillW: there used to be a small group called 'Kunming Writer's Society', we did a co-writing together. This group has since fallen apart due to people leaving, but there's several people I know that's into writing that -might- be interested in getting something together. However, I personally might have to leave Kunming in a few months, so I'm really not in a position to start something up that will then rely on me to continue.
