So I want to go to Burma for a week or so during Spring Festival. I'll be in Jinghong on the 15th so I'd like to enter overland.
Do I need a visa to get into Burma?
If so, where's the Burmese consulate in Kunming?
Are there buses to Burma from Banna?
I'm American.
Anything helps! Thanks!
Visa is required. Consulate contact details:

Search for "Myanmar" on this site for further info on crossings etc.
For future reference - overland crossings are possible but only at Ruili (not Daluo, near Jinghong) previously this required a permit, but rumors suggest that since July 1st, the permit requirement has been abolished though I wouldn't count on this. A visa in advance is also another requirement under all circumstances.
Overland access within Myanmar to the border at Mu-se (opposite Ruili) is now definately possible without a permit (I did it in April) as the law changed in February.
There are no buses into Myanmar from anywhere in China. Crossings must be done in a Chinese or Myanmar registered private vehicle or on foot (Chinese registered vehicles can only travel about 10km inside Myanmar).
