Hi, I need to get some (fake) souvenir swords to Australia. Tried Fedex but it never made it past customs. My friend tried it in a normal post office but as soon as they saw the unwrapped swords they refused.
Will it get less strict in a few months or should I give up? I think Australia customs is really strict as well. I could wait through next spring but I don't know if anyone has any advice at all..
oddly, i think your best bet might be to take them with you when you travel. a friend of mine took two massive (and scary looking!) dao from Beijing to the Netherlands for his wushu teacher a while back.
i can't think of a sure-fire way to ship them, but i guess it might be worth talking to the foreign courier companies - FedEx and DHL both operate in Kunming.
you might ask on swordforum.com -- someone there may have figured out a way
