An exhibition of masks from France, Italy and Yunnan will be hosted by Français Sans Frontieres at Espace Francophone de Kunming running from the 24th to the 30th of this month.
The exhibit, "Masks and Carnivals", will feature photos of the Venetien carnivals in the French cities of Annecy and Corbeil Essonnes plus photos from festivals in Venice and Sartiglia in Italy.
Chinese masks made by Lahu and Naxi artisans who combine traditional shamanistic elements of Lahu and Dongba cultures with contemporary sensibilities will also be on display.
The exhibition, sponsored by CCT Tours International and Cina Oggi, will hold an opening on Saturday, March 24 at 8:00 pm, with French Café previewing some of the exhibit's photos on March 20.
