Friday, Saturday & Sunday: Laowo Bar music festival
Laowo Bar will hold the "Second Laowo Indoor Music Festival" this weekend. Tonight and Saturday it will showcase 14 bands from around Yunnan, followed by a closing DJ party on Sunday night. The musical styles will range from folk and reggae to metal. See the schedule below:

Friday bands: Mangdian (盲点) at 5pm; ENSAY at 6pm; Dasi Sida (打死死打) at 7pm; Sigangli Orchestra (司岗里乐团) at 8pm; Xuanfu (悬浮) at 9pm; Kalvary at 10pm; and Shijie Huimie Zhiqian (世界毁灭之前) at 11pm. Entry fee: 30 yuan.

Saturday bands: Mayuan Shiren (麻园诗人) at 5pm; Houyuan (后怨) at 6pm; Misa (弥撒) at 7pm; Dachong (大冲) at 8pm; Jisheng Qianye (寄生前夜) at 9pm; Huadan (花旦) at 10pm; and Kouxian (扣弦) at 11pm. Entry fee: 30 yuan.

Sunday night: Closing party with DJ Maomao, DJ Jiangcheng and DJ Shurui. The 30 yuan party starts at 9pm.

Friday: All-you-can-eat BBQ at Sandra's
The barbecue tonight at Sandra's will feature ostrich, Brazilian tenderloin, sausages and more. It starts at 6pm and costs 100 yuan. Call 15825267010 for reservations.

Friday: Panini at The Box
The panino night at The Box tonight will feature special panini from outside the regular Box menu. Valleandino red wine will also be available at a special price of 20 yuan per glass and 120 yuan per bottle. The event starts at 6pm.

Friday: DJ I'm No Prize at 1895 Movie Bar
DJ I'm No Prize will play funk, reggae and world music at 1895 Movie Bar tonight with a live musical interlude by David Tedeschi from 10 to 10:30pm. There will also be free cocktail samplers from the 1895 menu and 15 yuan tall cans of Valentins Hefeweissbier. The free party starts at 9pm.

Friday: Music party at The Hump Bar
The Hump bar will have 50s Rockabilly, 60s Garage and 70s punk tonight from 10pm till late.

Friday: "Mash it Up" party at Uprock
DJ DSK will be spinning hip hop, funk, breaks, dirty disco and dancehall live on the turntables at Uprock tonight. The free party starts at 11pm.

Saturday: Yuansheng Studio exhibition opening
Yunnan Yuansheng Indigenous Music and Dance Studio will have an opening cocktail party tonight for its new exhibition of oil paintings by more than 20 artists from Kunming universities. All works will be priced at 1000 yuan or under. The opening party starts at 9pm and the exhibition will run through September 30.

Saturday: Live rock at Laba
Strange Days (奇怪的日子) and Jiuhuo will (旧货) will play at Laba on Saturday. The free show starts at 9pm.

Saturday: DJ I'm No Prize at 1896 Sports Bar
DJ I'm No Prize will play funk, reggae and world music at 1896 Sports Bar in Beishiqu tonight with a live musical interlude by David Tedeschi from 10 to 10:30pm. There will also be free cocktail samplers, a free barbecue sampler from the new outdoor grill and 15 yuan tall cans of Valentins Hefeweissbier. The party starts at 9pm.

Saturday: DJs at Uprock
DJ Shonny and DJ DD will supply the tunes at Uprock on Saturday night. The free party starts at 10pm.
