Friday: "Wine Tsunami" sign-up deadline
Today at 3pm is the deadline to reserve a spot for this weekend's Wine Tsunami event at the Yunnan Red Wine vineyards in Mile. Revelers will depart at 10am on Saturday and return Sunday evening after partying in the vineyards with music by The Quebec Redneck Bluegrass Project, The Tribal Moons, Smegma Riot, DJ Xiao Kris, DJ Agbadza, and DJ Dirty Sanchez – and wine, of course. Friday: All-you-can-eat BBQ at Sandra's
Tonight's barbecue at Sandra's will feature Australian lamb, chicken and German sausages. The dinner starts at 6pm and costs 100 yuan. Call 15825267010 for reservations.

Friday: Mid-semester party at Laba
The party at Laba tonight will have warm-up music by band The Crzy Labas. Afterwards DJs will be spinning reggae, dub, hip-hop, trance and Israeli. The free party starts at 9:30pm with a special on Dali beer for 5 yuan a bottle.

Friday: MC Flaccid at The Hump Bar
MC Flaccid will be playing a lineup of classic funk at The Hump Bar tonight. The free funkiness begins at 10pm.

Friday: Drinking competition at Laowo Bar
Laowo Bar will hold a test of beer drinking prowess Friday night. The exact nature of the competition is nebulous, but each entrant must purchase a dozen small bottles of Beer Lao – although unused bottles can be shared with friends. First, second and third prizes will be 6 dozen, 4 dozen and 2 dozen bottles of Beer Lao respectively. The event begins at 10pm.

Saturday: Afternoon music at Summer Lotus
Members of Kunming's Yun871 DJ crew will be providing the tunes Saturday afternoon at Summer Lotus. Music for the "Afternoon Chill-out" will include reggae, chillout/lounge and deep house. The entry fee of 50 yuan for men and 25 yuan for women to the 1pm event includes bottomless beer, tea and juice.

Saturday: Schnitzel night at Sandra's
Sandra's will be serving up original Viennese veal schnitzel on Saturday night. The meal will cost 85 yuan per person. Call 1582526701 for reservations.

Saturday: Live rock at Nashville Sound Bar
The rock double header at Nashville Sound Bar on Saturday will feature local bands L.I.B. and Maoduoli (猫哆哩). Entrance to the 8pm show costs 20 yuan.
