    • Forums > Food & Drink > Modern Toilet restaurant

I just read on the shanghaiist that the modern toilet restaurant just opened in Kunming:

Toilet seats instead of chairs, urinals on the wall, and turd-like ice cream — this is not some skanky sex club in Berlin but a bathroom-themed restaurant which has recently opened up in Kunming, Yunnan province. The eatery is the latest addition to a chain of restaurants called Modern Toilet that started out in Taiwan and in recent years expanded to Hong Kong and mainland China. Other mainland cities that are home to a Modern Toilet restaurant include Shenzhen, Jinjiang, Foshan, Xiamen and Chongqing. There isn't any news of a Modern Toilet opening here in Shanghai yet, but they're definitely looking for a franchisee in case any of you thinks this sort of toilet humour will work here.

I went to this restaurant in Hong Kong, the food is not great great, but it's a fun experience and makes for excellent photo opportunities.

Anyone know where in Kunming it is? I'd quit like to check it out :)

I didn't know playing on week nights at yunda's hall is no longer available.. seems strange but ok, maybe it's temporary?

I don't know if anyone is up for the one inside 'the Loft' (it's in the 'listings' under badminton.) This location is further south, but might have courts available on the night we want to play. I passed by there once, it's indoor and perfectly nice. Otherwise I am sure there are other courts around the area, you just need to find them and track a phone number down :)

Or, we go with Mayya's plan and play in the weekends at Yunda, but since I am unfortunatly too busy in weekends I will keep searching myself for an available space on a weeknight.

So, this coming monday night no badminton yet, but we seem to have enought interested people so hopefully we can start playing next week!

Good to hear more people are interested :)
Let's try this monday night to get some people together and start playing! I only know Yunda's badmintoncourt which has around 10-12 fields, 20 kuai for an hour for one field and 5 kuai for a racket, if you need to rent one. I have the phonenumber to make a reservation. Offcourse we can play somewhere else, but since I live just south of Green Lake going up north is not very convenient for me.

I would like to join a badminton club here in Kunming to improve my badminton skills and to meet locals at the same time. Does anyone know of a good club, preferably around the Green Lake area, where people meet and play maybe once/twice a week? Nothing too serious though, I haven't played in a long time..

Joining a university team could be good, but I am not a university student, anyone tried this? Any info is welcome!
