Can anyone confirm this is legit? And works for an American?

Very interesting and progressive by Myanmar. I'm becoming more enticed to visit this country all the time.

Looks very similar to the Cambodia e-visa which is very easy and works really well. Makes sense for Myanmar to be working on this as I know they are very keen to increase tourism now the country is really opening up

Yes, I followed prompts on the site and hit a dead end. It doesn't work yet. I have an American friend who gets visas on arrival, but she is working there so it's a business visa. Seems for tourist visa, no can do.

I just got off the phone with the consulate in Kunming, and posted what I found out on this site's listing for the Myanmar Consulate.

It does not function however. I've a good United states buddy that will get visas upon appearance, however she's operating presently there therefore it is a company visa. Appears with regard to visitor visa, absolutely no can perform.
