I have received a few PMs regarding the next GK Meetup. I would like to schedule one for mid June (13-17 June) - depending on how many replies I receive and the time each person has available.
I find a group of more than 5 difficult to manage as it is hard to fit everyone's schedule (time and place) with others. Also, when there are more than 5 or 6 people they tend to break up into subgroups which detracts from the purpose of the meeting. 4 is the ideal number for a meetup - everyone can fit in one booth or table.
As our first meeting was in the downtown area (121 Street) I would like to schedule the next (June) meeting up north. I live in the south (Mian Shan + Ma Jie) so recommendations are most welcome.
All meetups will be scheduled on weekdays only (no Sat or Sun) as many people work or is not convenient for them on weekends.
If you send me a PM please provide the time you are avaibale and a recommendation for a place to meet. Also, if you have a tight schedule (less than 3 hours) it will be more difficult to include you into the meeting, so it is best if you have at least a 4-5 hour window of free time.
I was also asked about bringing spouses/significant others. This would be a great idea after we have met several people who are interested in meeting with spouses (not just yet).

Thursday, June 23 at 1700. We had another successful and positive meeting last night.
Among the participants were Long-Dragon, Ricsnap, Tallamerican, JanJal and myself. Michael2015 and Alexz, we missed you guys last night.
Based on inquiries from prior participants, we are planning to have a meeting which includes wives or significant others. Once we get enough people who are interested we can better prepare for this event and our better halves can also meet and interact with each other.
At times, wives can feel isolated as being married to a laowai is not always easy - Haha! It will be good for spouses to relate and share expereinces with one another and perhaps even begin a support group among themselves.
From a military background, wives always played an important role and they always had a support group to help each other, especially for younger spouses who did not know how to deal with absent military husbands. In the case of Kunming, some spouses are not local and may feel alone without their families or they may need a shoulder to lean on to share concerns from a female perspective.
Received a message about another meetup. If anyone is interested please post some comments here and we can see if we can make it happen.
