Friday and Saturday: "Guys and Dolls" at Kunming International Academy
Kunming International Academy students will stage performances of the musical Guys and Dolls on Friday and Saturday. We hear that the Friday performance is sold out but that some tickets may be available for the matinee and evening shows at 2pm and 7pm on Saturday. More information is available here.

David and Steve from the Great Apes will play folk, pop and blues tonight at 1895 Movie Bar with music between sets from DJ I'm No Prize. Half-liter cans of imported Valentins Weissbier will be on special for 18 yuan. The free performance starts at 10pm.
Friday: DJ Fuego at The Hump Bar
DJ Fuego will play "salsa and more" at The Hump Bar tonight with tequila shots for 10 yuan. The free party starts at 10pm.
Friday: Beijing DJs at Uprock
DJ Pancake Lee (大饼) and VJ Sonar.lj will be at Uprock tonight playing minimal techno and other electronica. Entry to the 10pm show is 20 yuan.
Saturday: Classic Chinese texts study group
There will be a study group for classic Chinese texts such as the Analects of Confucius at Rainbow Coffee on Saturday afternoon. The free event will be held in English and anyone wishing to join should contact Audrey at xienan9.nanmi [at] gmail.com.
Saturday: Premier League football at Lazy Bones Pizza
Lazy Bones Pizza will show Arsenal vs. Tottenham Hotspur at 8:45pm on Saturday, followed by another match of the collective patrons' choice at 11pm.
Saturday: Live rock at Laba
Laba will have a rock music concert on Saturday with a lineup of local bands including Mayuan Shiren (麻园诗人), Parasitic Eve (寄生前夜), Requiem (往生咒), and The Secret Flight Trip (秘密飞行). The 8:30pm show will cost 25 yuan.
Saturday: Reggae and pop at 1895 Movie Bar
Eddy and Philippe will perform an eclectic live set of reggae and pop at 1895 Movie Bar on Saturday with cans of Valentins beer for 18 yuan. The free show starts at 10pm
Saturday: MC Flaccid at The Hump Bar
MC Flaccid will play classic funk and soul at The Hump Bar on Saturday starting at 10pm.
Sunday: Brunch at Lazy Bones
Lazy Bones restaurant will serve Sunday brunch this week including English and American breakfasts, pancakes, French toast, eggs, hamburgers, pork ribs, chicken parmesan, chicken parmesan with pesto, meatball subs, a make-your-own bloody mary bar, mimosas and beer specials. The meal will run from 11am to 4pm.
Sunday: Wine club meeting at Slice of Heaven
This is the third Sunday of the month, which means a meeting of the Kunming International Wine Imbibers (KIWI) group at 5:30pm at Slice of Heaven. More information about KIWI can be found here.

Ongoing: Photo exhibition at the Yunnan Provincial Library
The Nature Conservancy China is sponsoring a Yunnan eco-photography exhibition on the second floor of the Yunnan Provincial Library. It will be open for free daily from 9am to 6pm until November 30.
