eat dog meat?

@Alien Obviously you missed the point with my comment about pigs... If you cannot fathom the difference between the history of dogs and humans and pigs and humans then you might as well go back to school and learn basic comprehension.

I agree with cuihulongjing. That is so messed up to eat an animal that evolved alongside humans. Thats awful. Thats one thing about this country that really needs to change permanently. You dont see people walking on the street the a pig or a cow walking calmly and obediently alongside their masters.

I did see someone walking their pig in Kunming. Really interesting. Sniffing the bushes and walking in front of it's master unleashed. It behaved just like a dog :)

@AlexKMG. Was the piggy piglet sized? I saw them for sale in the bird and flower market. So cute :)
Or did i miss the sarcasm?...

My friend got one of those "miniature" pigs here in Kunming. Turned out to be a normal sized pig in the end. It was cute but a selfish little creature who only wanted to eat and sleep. It did like to be held but would squeal loudly when picked up. Pigs are awesome people should probably stop eating them too... ;-)

Fish on the other hand are water insects... chickens definitely no qualms about slaughtering those. My dog caught an escaped one the other day in our xiao qu. Green curry and coconut milk does make.

Know many people in England with pigs as pets.
The only thing determining what you eat is the diet you were brought up on and your own personal feelings, don't think a dog has to much sympathy with whatever meat put in front of it but personally I could never eat dog even though try pretty much anything!

redjon77: 3rd thing determining what you eat might be your openness to what you don't know - it is, in fact, possible to learn.

Social conditioning, level of exposure to mainstream media, religion can also influence what you think is acceptable to eat.
I used to think seafood looked repulsive until I tasted it the first time.

also, don't forget that the distance that your head is up your own anus (sometimes due to you 'learning', alternative thinking and generally knowing better than others) can be a factor too.

I think this is all a bit off topic. surely this is all down to personal choice. If the OP wants to eat dog that's fine with me but I'm not going to. likewise if i enjoy eating organic food (just for example) I won't be feeling the need to tell anyone how right and good that is.

reboos, if you're still looking for dog meat there used to be a few places on a side street just off Jinbi square.
