Coloradans and guns

Banning guns does nothing to prevent gun crime. Up in Toronto, where guns are all but illegal, there have been several mass shootings in the past few weeks. One occurred in a shopping mall food court and several people were killed, with many more injured. One woman who escaped that even safely met her fate at the Batman showing in Colorado.

Still, the politicians up in Toronto want to ban bullets and guns. You can't get either without a very difficult to get permit. But the stupid voters see this as taking some action, which it doesn't. A few years back a Toronto city council banned nuclear weapons to protect the city from the USSR (during the cold war). Now they are pointing out how well that worked!

No. Today it is the guns you don't like. Next year it will be a few more types someone else doesn't like. Eventually, we get to those lihaizi types who want total elimination of all firearms. Where does it stop?

We start with a tragedy and decry the deaths and injuries. So in the name of a "safer" country we must do the compassionate thing. But, unfortunately, it turns out guns are just one of the things in our lives that kill and maim. Those that had appealed to a safer world, now say there is no comparison to other deadly things.

Next the issue is hyped to 100 round mags, full auto guns, slavery, arming Chinese and whatever hot button might work. Throw out the old laws cuz times they are a changing. Let us have new laws and less freedom. It'll be a better world. For those tyrants that still have guns anyway.

Every time we lose a right, it is gone. I lose the right to own a gun, you lose. You are forced by the government to act against your religious beliefs, I lose. Fox News is silenced, we both lose. A doctor gets a White House job because he wrote a book saying old retired people should not get medical care and be left to die, society loses. Some Arab guys hijack planes and kill people, we get the TSA. If you are gay, I really am not interested in what you do, or who you do it with, but I strongly feel you have the right to do it.

The US Constitution is, in part, a list of things the government can't do to us and it states we have certain rights that can not be abridged. If you accept the rationality of removing certain rights and protections you find offensive, we are on the way to losing it all.

It's the same with 'the war on drugs'. That so called war has brought in more drugs not less. What's next, the 'war on guns'?

From the Wikipedia article on "Slavery in the United States":
"To help regulate the relationship between slave and owner, including legal support for keeping the slave as property, slave codes were established. Slave codes were laws established to demonstrate legal sanctions over the black population.

While each state had its own slave code, many concepts were shared throughout the slave states. According to the slave codes, teaching a slave to read or write was illegal. This was common code among many southern states."

Geezer: I believe that according to your reasoning above here's another 'right' and a piece of your white American 'freedom' that's lost?

Should we have the right of having SAM sites in our gardens, in case of air attacks? Should we have the right to own hand granates in case we're outnumbered by the outlaws? How about tanks, because SUVs are not big enough?

How exactly do you describe freedom? The right to kill, because to kill or not to kill is my personal decision and no one can take that freedom away from me?

Never mind. This is my last post concerning guns and Americans.

the funny thing is that in the world only Americans are pro-guns and not even all of them, but reading these comments it seems that anti guns are just a bunch of nuts...you guys pro guns living overseas don't you feel embarrassed to be the only ones in the world with this kind of law?

The law in the US is absolete and the more availabale guns and bullets are, there higher the chance that people will kill and be killed by guns.
mathmatical fact, plus a group dynamic effect (they have guns so i should have one to to protect myself...blabla)

Car accidents and gun crime don't compare at all, never did, never will .....
accidents vs. crime just enjoy the meaning of the words.

No one needs (semi)automatic rifles except the military, so why can you buy them?

hunters and people in dire need to have guns will always have access. it's the john doe that should stay away from it.

Nutters become nutters, few are born that way. and yes they will always get their weapons somehwere, but do you really need to make their life easier by selling heavy weapons (some of them fall under the law of heavy war weaponry, in europe), in shops next door?

If you love your freedom so much and the contributions to the U.S. wouldn't it be a nice approach to try, just try, to get rid of all those weapons and see if lives would be saved?
Image a person allowed to carry a gun, gives it up for the better of society, instead of defending a law that is dumb in the first place, proven to make things worse, is 200 years outdated and has no purpose in modern society at all. (hint... you really want to ovethrow the opressive governemtn of th U.S. with some shotguns and locked automatic rifles against the biggest and strongest army in the world)?

I am specialized infantry and I learned enough to know that you shouldn't fight a battle you can't win.

Only soldiers and law should carry guns (and even that is questionable).

If you want to be a big boy and play with toys, get a fun car or a sex doll (or all both) or something else, that eases your cowboy-defence complexions.

as a weapons trained adult, i tell you Guns are bad!!!
There is actual real scientific research about that (bowling for columbine, playboy, NRA fliers, don't count), that proves that strict gun laws decreases gun crimes, ...if you don't believe the "LIVING" examples in other countries.

I never touched a "real" gun after the Army and it feels great, i still know how to use it but i don't have to prove it by having one under my pillow.

But don't worry, have your guns and kill or get killed, gokunming forum members leave no soldier behind..... whoo-ah. :D

Oh about the war on drugs, ...sorry to tell you but the only ones that thought the strategy is a good idea, were...well americans (political americans). Same in Vietnam/Nicaragua/ South Africa....the list is long...
Plus the war against drugs was never about the "against", same with war on "terror"..etc...

you want to fix your countries drug issues look around. The Netherlands is a good example, now taking over in some parts of California and woooops, it works. Isn't it beautiful!

Sorry I love Americans and Chinese, everyone for that matter. When I mock you or talk about "You", I mean the country not the individuals. It's directed to the political, religious and rightwing (pretty much the same thing), nutjobs.
