Coloradans and guns

bosnianXCII (36 posts) • 0

Hello, friends. What I now type may be seen as inflammatory and narrow minded, but I sincerely implore the moderators not to remove my thread.

1. First off, Batman is hands down the greatest super hero, for his only super power is super money. Batman Begins is by far the best movie in the saga. When Heath Ledger faked his death (a la 2Pac), the spirit of The Joker possessed the body of a young Coloradan and wrought havoc. I still haven't seen The Dark Knight Rises so please no spoilers.

2. Srsly Colorado. I can distinctly remember 3 shootings in America, Columbine, Virginia Tech... and... Batman?? rly? Titanic would have been a better choice.

3. I have great respect for vegetarians, and to a lesser extent vegans. I have no respect for omnivores that eat meat daily and yet have never taken the life of animal they eat. You miss out on a natural human experience if you never see the agony of an animal when you take the life out of a magnificent creature and turn it into something delicious. So if you eat meat and have never killed an animal you've eaten, your argument is moot.

4. I am not a proud American. I'm a proud Montanan. According to Wiktionary, a state is any sovereign polity, which is 差不多 synonymous with nation. A province is not on the same level with nation or state. The EU is a fledgling example of a conglomeration of states. Article VI section 13 of the Montana constitution states as follows.

"MILITIA. (1) The governor is commander-in-chief of the militia forces of the state, except when they are in the actual service of the United States. He may call out any part or all of the forces to aid in the execution of the laws, suppress insurrection, repel invasion, or protect life and property in natural disasters.
(2) The militia forces shall consist of all able-bodied citizens of the state except those exempted by law.

I am a proud and obliged member of the Montana Militia, and when the federal government is wrong I am not opposed to relinquishing them of their control over my beautiful home.

5. I think we are all missing the issue at hand though. The apocalypse is nigh upon us, and when the zombies come, where do you want to be. China or America?

To debate about gun control only keeps people off the main topic. Once again, another lone gunman who sat by his car after he completed his task. This is called mind control programming. Same as the guy who killed Lennon who stood by and waited to be arrested. Mel Gibson was right when he said all serial killers have 3 names in the movie Conspiracy Theory. Why didnt this guy run? Why did he order ammo online so he could be traced? Ammo which he did not use or could possibly use. When you open an emergency exit of a theater, an alarm will go off. Who disabled the alarm? Some witnesses claim another man opened the door for him. Anyone can buy a gas mask but not all can purchase flash bangs or tear gas canisters. All tear gas canisters have a lot number that can be traced. Body armor is also not easy to purchase. Ironic how his building was evacuated and no other residents were allowed in. Claims that his home was booby-trapped with explosives but still no mention of what was found. People who saw him in court described him as dazzed and confused. This case has so many red flags.

American homicide rates are nearly 5 times that of China (1.12 per 100,000 in China and 5.0 in the States.) That's a surprising fact considering China's issues with overpopulation, income disparity, and water access.

Tonyaod, but "well-regulated" has to mean something. It does not mean just every male in general at any time. It means that the militia has rules, laws, order, discipline, etc. That is why, as much as I do not personally agree with state, non-governmental militias, at least they are following the Second Amendment as it is written.

There it goes again, someone suggesting that if someone else had a gun in that theater maybe that sicko would have been stopped.Lemme ask you this:how do you stop someone armed to the teeth, who had planned this massacre for months and prepared for battle with a single handgun?I tell you how,you don't!The bloodshed was inevitable the moment that lunatic's mind was set on killing those innocent people.

And you say murder happens anyway, with a knife or a baseball bat,how many people would you think he could kill if he had entered the theater only armed with a knife? How many families would be mourning their loses now if he was only wielding a wooden stick?

Yes people kill, not guns, but if people were not armed, they cannot harm others to the same degree.Feel free to state your opinion, but the fact that people with access to guns are more dangerous than someone packing, lets say only fists,is undisputed.

Comparing how guns kill people to how cars kill people? Are cars designed to kill? Guns are designed to do nothing but to kill.

Because the USA was founded by armed revolution (single shot muskets weren't they?), so its citizens need to be armed to prepare for another armed revolution? To overthrow the government which is based upon the constitution that allows for this arming of civilians? And this is the reason why the Batman maniac could buy a semi-automatic with the 100 bullet clip? At least his freedoms weren't infringed.

Hahaha it is pretty funny(I'm being sarcastic)to see the topic heating up just like ANYWHERE else on the web but let's not forget about a few facts:

1. This dude was dressed up in professional military ballistic full body outfit. He planned this for months purchasing weaponry and ammo. You average hunting enthusiasts really think you can pull out your gun fast enough in a DARK movie theater confronting him, who has calculated his plans and has bullet-proof outfit just IN CASE people with guns fire at him? Guys, among the dead, 2 were military guys in active duty, if they didn't even have time to react, you really think you are gonna save the world super hero?

2. all the pro-gun people will talk about the 2nd Amendment blah blah their right and stuff, ok, I will use someone else's word on the internet — If you want to take advantage of the Constitution made in the 18th century, might as well be allowed to only use a gun made in the 18th century. Using AR-15 with the 100 round drum magazine shooting at the speed of 50 to 60 bullets a minute, and ALL PURCHASED legally. Tell me what freaking hunting needs something like this?

Lastly, Michael Bloomberg for President! Who is the only honest, daring, non-hypocrite politician who speaks out loud against the out of control gun problem in America. Mr. Bloomberg is pretty hella rich, he doesn't need NRA's lobbying to make his career. Ha.

The National Rifle Association of America (NRA) is an American non-profit 501(c)(4) lobbying group[1][2] that advocates for the protection of the Second Amendment of the United States Bill of Rights, and the promotion of firearm ownership rights as well as marksmanship, firearm safety, and the protection of hunting and self-defense in the United States.
According to a 1999 Fortune survey, lawmakers and congressional staffers considered NRA the most influential lobbying group [www.wikipedia.org]

That's a big reason why guns are not banned yet in America.
The American Constitution was written in 1789 (!).

About the comparisons between chinese and american assaults look at this video

The only solid indisputable comment I have heard on TV about this is, 'Gun control is a polarizing issue'.

Can we all at least agree that assault weapons are not necessary for hunting, self-defense, constitutionality or freedom? Nobody is coming for your handguns and hunting rifles, at least not this century. But where else can regulations start? Do we wait until disintegrating ray guns are available on the market, or can we draw a line short of that at assault weapons?
