Economy and Society

OK, Peter, right, that's interesting, though of course not conclusive. But I'd still argue that the more serious problem is distribution - not the bottom line for a magazine like Forbes. National economic growth rates are not everything.
Still, I'm not sure why, or if, this is supposed to be scary for, say, me.

I don't see what there is to worry about. Was in Europe 2008, survived, no one died, Europe didn't collapse in on itself.

Come from Zimbabwe if you want to talk about economies. Me, Zimbabwe and Mugabe, still here.

So what?

Like I said yesterday, personally I believe some of you guys are too stupid to grasp the seriousness of the situation, and I dont mean to offfend anyone by saying this, just stating a plausible fact.

China's economic growth rate slowing down from a long period of dramatic increase predicted long ago and prepared for by those that take note or care. Long overdue if you ask me.

Maybe you should look further into what would happen in the countries you are running away too IF the Chinese economy collapsed. With China holding debts, assets and mountains of cash from around the world, and had to call them in / dump the dollar - go figure

Peter, personally I believe I can pretty much grasp the seriousness of the whole world situation. That of China is particularly serious because it involves so many people - but why is it that it's all supposed to be particularly dangerous for foreigners in Yunnan?

It seems you're a bit afraid to be here - why?

Where is it you plan to be that is going to be all that much safer?

In short, I'm worrying about all kinds of ongoing disasters going on all over the place, but I'm not excessively personally worried about being in Kunming in particular. Where do you think I ought to be?
What is it you are personally worrying about?

Are you merely afraid you won't be able to amass a whole bunch of money or something?

Yes Peter, you are far superior than the rest of us. We are grateful for all of your words. So please explain the serious consequences that we are going to face. Your posts so far say absolutely nothing of substance.

@ Peter99.

I haven't leant anyone money to build apartments, I don't run a shop, I don't dable in the stock market, I'm not local. How does this effect me?

If I come to work one day and they say there's nothing left in the coffers to pay me with, if law and order has broken down, if there is panic in the streets, If people begin panic buying and the supermarket runs out of Nutella, I get on a plane and go home, watching the pandmodium unfold on the news from my living room.

Or do you know something I dont?
