How about this one, recent news. "Labor Protests Multiply in China as Economy Slows, Worrying Leaders". There was a chart too in another recent news, on demonstrations, strikes and such, and it was surging - lets say - in quite a rampant manner.

Lets put in some more. Heres a yesterday news from Xinhua. Xinhua newsagency interviews professor Christian Goebel, a political scientist and professor of Modern China Studies at the University of Vienna. Heres a quote from the news.
[News: Expert says China on an economic turning point]. "Goebel is fascinated by the huge urbanization plan of the government. He called it the biggest experiment of mankind. "This has never been seen in history. In principle, the whole of China is divided and major city centers with connections between them will be established," the professor noted."
Notice the word, experiment.
Note what he says about distribution of income.
This one, assumably: "Having a high economic growth and an enlargement of the income gap at the same time should not serve the interests of China. The government will purchase a smaller economic growth to strengthen the low income," Goebel said, "This is the most important measure."
looking at whether there having a path for a systemic evolution. i doubt, the absolute power would give up the handy tool of "nationalism." so evolve it might, in what direction? absolute power believes in the security blanket called inbreeding, in grooming leadership. i wouldnt call that evolution. so... :-)
