First,I have to say I am shocked what some people write here, about a "HUMAN" being, especially this coming from the some of the people, who always complain about the world becoming worse, day by day.
She is a human [apparently, not since she is only Chinese] who is suffering from probably a mental disorder and calling her meal tickets, or telling the person caring for her, to bail on her just because she is inconvenient, -is just disgusting.
Like,... if not, ....or especially, the people writing this, -wouldn't be the first and the worst on clinging onto other's fortunes, to pay their medical bills if all other things fail.
Please OP don't listen to most [if not all] of the advise given so far.
You need to see a specialist. And as mentioned correctly, you need to get her cooperation on this, if not you are fighting windmills.
If she agrees on helping her, you have to see an expert, 'officially' not around in Kunming. Psychology is not really established in China. Especially not in the West. The closest expert I could refer to is in Beijing, Dr. Tian Chenghua at No. 6 or Army Hospital. But seeing him is probably as pricey as flying to Thailand or Hongkong.
So Hongkong and Thailand are good options, especially if you want to get a second opinion, [which is recommended on mental disorders]
See a doctor,
get her checked, full physical and psychological. It could be a nerval or hormonal dysfunction, as well.
Take your time with the doctor to talk and most important learn on how to treat and live with the disorder, if there is one.
Sometimes therapy is enough, and opposing to what some of the posters say, often the medication is very little and mild, but takes time to adjust. Most people over use and overdose their medications, out of convenience.
Most important Western drugs are mostly non toxic, addictive, or other nonsense.
If dosed right and prescribed for the right disorder, they can do real magic and also heal the bio-chemical dysfunctions in the brain and nerval system.
So most people here mean well, but are talking out of their pooper.
About your background, [both of you]. Who gives a crap?
You like/lover her? Great!
She wants you/ needs you? Great!
If you loose money or time to help another human being? That's bad, but wouldn't it be worth it?
Helping another being?...The best money and time spend,-EVER!
If you get ripped off or cheated. You might be called gullible but you are still an awesome human being.
Prayer? Nutrition changes? It's cute, at best. And if lucky and if the placebo kicks in, it's great! You can try and some of it may have little influence on the disorder. Be aware though, that depending on her level of life-quality, it may also lead to a further depression, as more 'happy-things' are taken away from her.
But it usually doesn't tend to help since similar to other standard medz, is only symptomatic and a
So listen to what the doctor recommends and probably do the dietary test for a short time only. They usually take not more than 3 weeks to find the irritating pathogens and allergens.
So you need a proper diagnosis and a therapy [medication] plan, that you both can tailor towards your location, lifestyle and financial and physical and mental abilities. Something you are able to work out and through.
Whatever it is to make it work, you should try, if you want and can.
Kids and family also pregnancy can [as mentioned before] help and bring stabilty and build the habitual and life patterns, which were mentioned before. But for some disorders pattern have no, or little impact. Also kids should never be used as band-aid to help relationships, so for just treating your girl, it's not a good idea, but if it happens. It could bring more happiness, as well but also means extra work and stress. More people to take care of.
Some therapies build on life-quality, where everything in moderation is allowed, to not punish the patient any more. obviously he/she suffers enough, already [see cancer treatment].
The whole treatment and therapy can be a walk in the park, or a bumpy road but it is always worth trying as much as you can. And most often it's somewhere in the middle of both.
Nobody can, or will blame you for bailing on her, except you, asking yourself, over and over if you should have tried more, or if you left too early.
So with that, nobody can help you. Try your best, if you can,..maybe a little more, but if you are hurting yourself, you are of no help for her anymore. and then separation is an option and nothing to be blamed for.
But when you sit down with a proper shrink, he will explain the whole thing to you. And all of it looks and sounds less scary.
You and her family will need to get some paper work done for her, as well. Also the professional doctor, will tell you what you need for what case etc.
So, see what she wants. If she wants help, see a good doctor, anywhere you can. Learn [both of you] how to handle this and teach each other. If medz listen to the doc, fine tune the medz. Be happy, do the things that make both happy and fulfilled. With a few years the brain and nervous-system as well as the bio chemistry will adjust, it may be cured, or may not. But in almost all cases life quality and disorder manageability will increase drastically.
So I wish you good luck, and you seem to be a great guy, feed from that. You are doing the right thing.
I wish her good health and a quick and good recovery,
